Max Verstappen will not join the press conference for the
Spanish Grand Prix on Thursday. Teammate
Sergio Perez will not be there either. Instead, home heroes Carlos Sainz and Fernando Alonso will attend.
Toto Wolff will be present at the team press conference. The German is sure to be expecting questions about
Andrea Kimi Antonelli's possible Mercedes arrival.
Verstappen will miss the press conference at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, where he won his first
Formula 1 race in 2016. Local heroes Fernando Alonso and
Carlos Sainz do attend, as do
Daniel Ricciardo,
Kevin Magnussen and
Valtteri Bottas.
On Friday, Alpine team boss Bruno Famin,
Ferrari team boss Fred Vasseur, Sauber team representative Alessandro Alunni Bravi and Mercedes boss
Toto Wolff will be in attendance. The latter can expect the necessary questions about Antonelli, days after the
FIA amended the rule that prevents a driver under 18 from being eligible for a super licence.
Presumably, Antonelli will make his
F1 debut at
Williams this season, intended to prepare him for a seat at Mercedes. Currently, the 17-year-old Italian is considered the top candidate to take over
Lewis Hamilton's seat alongside
George Russell.
