Lando Norris, after his P4 finish in Jeddah, explained why failed to reach the podium places signalling a McLaren weakness which may hinder him in the next race in Miami.
From P10 he managed to make his way up to P4, a result however, which doesn't satisfy him, since in the next race, the Miami Grand Prix, Norris feels McLaren will 'suffer' compared to other teams, as they did in Jeddah.
"I think we suffer on a track like this. We still suffer a lot with the DRS compared to the other teams. We're not quick enough in the straights, which makes my life today especially tough. I've got no advantage on any other team."
Despite the McLaren being the best overall car, Norris feels this advantage may not be enough and urges the papaya team to press on.
"It's tricky, but there were plenty of races last year where we were in a similar boat and we were very quick. We've just got to be patient and keep working hard. The team are doing a great job and we're performing very well as a team."
In the past four rounds, Norris has not been able to extract the full potential from his MCL39, something that does not slip past the current P2 in the standings, where he trails his McLaren teammate, Oscar Piastri.
"Of course, maybe a little bit less on my side, but Oscar's doing a great job in showing where the car should be. So there's no reason to blame anything apart from to say that I need to be up there too."
