Ahead of his rookie season in
Formula 1 at
McLaren,
Lando Norris has acknowledged that
Williams have a
"really strong" line-up for 2019, as the Grove-based outfit have hired Norris's Formula 2 rival,
George Russell.
Norris finished second to that same Russell in this year's F2 championship, with the
Mercedes youth driver snapping up a record-tieing seven wins in his first season in the sport. Norris did finish above
Alexander Albon though, another F2 driver who will make the jump to Formula 1 next year.
Looking ahead to next season, Norris thinks that Russell and veteran
Robert Kubica will make for a really strong pairing for
Williams.
I remember watching him when I first started watching Formula 1, he was always a guy I looked up too because a lot of people said how good he was," the 19-year-old told RaceFans.
"I didn’t get to see him race a lot but I know what he can do.
"It’s good to have him back on the grid next year. I think it’s good for Williams to have two really strong drivers and hopefully we can have some good battles."
