Esteban Ocon is facing an uncertain future in Formula One but is adamant that he won't let speculation or adversity get to him and says he has been in "more difficult situations" before...
Ocon is on the brink of losing his Force India seat with Lance Stroll expected to be brought in by his father, whose consortium has recently taken over the side.
Mercedes are looking to find the Frenchman a place to drive next season - however, there are limited options for Ocon to drive next season.
Renault and McLaren were both interested in taking the Frenchman next season; but admitted his ties with Mercedes were a stumbling block for them.
Ocon insisted that he is doing his best not to let the speculation get in his head too much.
"It's not a distraction, because I manage to switch off quite well," the Force India man told RaceFans. "And I've been in more difficult situations than I am in now. I'm still doing a strong job I think the last few races.
"Of course it hasn't been an easy situation. I'm trying to do the best I can on track and I don't think I'm doing too bad."
Toro Rosso would perhaps be the best option for Ocon, but now Christian Horner has revealed that his side will not go for Ocon due to his close ties with Mercedes.
"Red Bull aren't going to invest in a Mercedes driver, understandably. And I wouldn't expect the same to happen the other way round," Horner told Motorsport.com.
