Ocon wants three cars per team

Force India driver Esteban Ocon believes that allowing three drivers per a team would solve his problem in Formula One.

Lance Stroll is set to move to Force India in the foreseeable future with his father taking ownership of the British team not too long ago, and this could mean the French driver will be without a seat in the sport.

Mercedes boss Toto Wolff has suggested in the past that perhaps adding a third driver for teams, which they could allocate their young drivers to, would be a good idea to benefit the sport.

"It would be fantastic," Ocon said following Saturday's Qualifying session, where he finished in P8, to set himself up for today's race as eighth in the grid.

"I wouldn't be very happy if young drivers like myself, Charles Leclerc and George Russell had those opportunities to DTM or Super Formula.

"If there's no place we'll see, but for now I am completely focused on Formula One."

The Force India man has also been linked with taking Stoffel Vandoorne's seat at McLaren - as has Ocon's team-mate Sergio Perez.

"I'm glad to hear Zak Brown said that, because McLaren is a great team with a great history and I have no doubt that sooner or later they will return to fight," Ocon added.

"But it's not up to me for the answer. I have a contract with Mercedes and if they decide some option to find a seat, but also Pascal Wehrlein and George Russell."
