In Hungary,
Esteban Ocon unexpectedly won his first
Formula 1 race. Together with Alpine teammate
Fernando Alonso, he took full advantage of the conditions which eliminated a number of frontrunners.
Ocon hopes conditions at Spa will lend a hand
Can Alpine repeat this stunt in Belgium? The circumstances will play an important role.
"Spa is a very different circuit with long straights, and we will be driving with less downforce. There might be some exciting conditions, like rain. In that sense it could be a difficult weekend, but it also creates opportunities for us," Ocon said in conversation with
Soymotor.
"Hopefully it will rain and things will happen like in Budapest. If we have a normal weekend the aim is to get to Q3 in qualifying and to finish in the top 10 so we score points. Our goal is to keep scoring points and hold on to fifth place in the Constructors' Championship," said the Frenchman.
