Sergio Perez believes he has a chance to drive for one of the ‘big three teams’ in 2019 if he performs well throughout this season.
Perez, who joined Force India in 2014, was once part of the Ferrari driver academy and wants to use his experience to push towards the “best possible car” in 2019.
The 28 year old said: “Definitely it is a year that is going to determine my career, my coming years.
“This year it’s going to be interesting to stay where we are and then see what’s available. I definitely want to be in the best possible car I can be.”
Force India’s scrap for fourth place is seemingly going to be much harder this season with the likes of Renault, McLaren, Haas and Toro Rosso all having the potential to beat them.
“Now we work together - and I hope that trend continues. We have to work together, we have to be united to push the team forward and hopefully battle each other for good positions.”
