Sergio Perez is in good form, having scored points in four of the last five races and is keen to keep the momentum going at the new Racing Point Force India team.
Force India have been through a tough time recently, falling into administration, but with the rescue deal complete, Perez can return his focus to racing and the upcoming
Italian Grand Prix.
Perez and Force India are typically good in Italy, with the Mexican scoring points in every Italian Grand Prix since his move to Force India back in 2014.
Before that, he recorded a podium finish at Monza, second place with Sauber in 2012.
Perez is looking to back up his fifth placed finish in Belgium last week with another strong showing, and he has said that the track is one of his favourites, given his good past results here.
He said: “Monza is always special and I love the old-school track. It’s high-speed and narrow, and it’s important that we keep coming back to these classic circuits.
“I’ve had good results in Monza in the past and I just love the energy and passion of the crowd. It’s always a really special race.”
Perez and his team mate Esteban Ocon will be looking to score more points after their pre-Belgium tally was scrapped after the administration saga.
18 points was a great start and it will be tough to beat that this weekend.
