Sergio Perez expects himself to capitalise on the support his has in home Grand Prix in Mexico. The Red Bull driver had quite a tricky second free practice session in Mexico City and finished in FP2. 'Checo' also thinks they are in good shape leading up the rest of the weekend.
"We didn't have a straightforward day. We didn't get a good read on the soft over a single lap. I had a yellow flag on my lap, so I ended up doing it on the second timed lap, which was not very straightforward," Sergio Perez told F1TV following FP2.
He continued: "So plenty of things to understand. We obviously went with different compounds also to understand them for Sunday. Overall we are in a good position. I think we have a good direction that we need to take."
'Checo' also once again thanked his fans, and gave an insight on what it feels like to drive in one’s home Grand Prix weekend. "It's nice because it's funny when you are in the car, you forget where you are. But as soon as you are out, there's a lot of tension," the Mexican driver added.
