Sergio Perez still occupies second place in the world championship. The Mexican tells in Red Bull Racing's press release that he is keen to hold on to this position, but that he realises that to do so he will have to come on strong in Brazil and Abu Dhabi.

Next weekend awaits the first test for him. With a five-point lead over Charles Leclerc, the challenge for him is to at least finish on the podium. Perez will also face a sprint race in Brazil, which could earn him extra points.

"I am going into the final two races of the season still feeling like I have everything to win," Perez stated. "We might be Constructors’ champions but as a Team, and for me personally, it is hugely important to secure a one-two in the Drivers’ Championship. For that I need to keep fighting and stay driven to achieve the best possible result in every race, including this weekend’s Sprint."

"The Sprint is a chance to score vital points, so it is important we get a good practice session in on Friday morning and qualify well. If we put everything together this weekend, we are the Team to beat and we are still so driven maintain the incredible form we have going this season."

Verstappen wants to help Perez in Brazil

Although Perez will have to perform himself, Max Verstappen let it be known that he wants to help him where possible. The Dutchman has already won the world championship, giving him the opportunity to be of service to his teammate in the final two races of the season.
