Sergio Perez has revealed the impact new
Racing Point boss, Lawrence Stroll has had on the team, describing him as the “most motivated man in the garage” but is aware of the challenges the team faces.
Stroll took over the old Force India team from Vijay Mallya after they went into administration midway through the 2018 F1 season. The constructor’s points were subsequently wiped and they started from zero points. Now rebranded as Racing Point, Stroll brought in his son
Lance as one of the team’s drivers.
Speaking on the Beyond the Grid podcast Perez praised Stroll’s impact saying: “He’s very enthusiastic, probably the most motivated person we have in the garage right now.
“He’s very enthusiastic, probably the most motivated person we have in the garage right now.
“He gets up at six in the morning and he’s flat out trying to go through everything.
“He is pushing the team very, very hard but at the same time is letting Otmar [Szafnauer] and the big boys to do their job.”
Despite being full of praise for Stroll Perez is aware results need to come sooner rather than later.
“But we are all aware that we have to give the results sooner rather than later,” he added.
