Qualifying for the
Monaco Grand Prix ended early for
Sergio Perez. A tragedy for the
Red Bull Racing driver, who will have to start Sunday's
Formula 1 race from 18th place.
For the third
F1 weekend in a row, Red Bull is having a tough time. In all free practice sessions, the RB20 proved difficult to drive, leading to disappointing results. For Perez, his weekend got worse. He will start the Grand Prix from 18th place.
Fernando Alonso also did not make it through to Q2: the Aston Martin driver, who suffered from traffic in his second run, starts 16th. The differences between them were particularly small. Perez was just five-tenths slower than
George Russell, the fastest man in Q1.
