After the third free practice for the
Belgian Grand Prix,
Sergio Perez was called to the
FIA's race management. He is said to have stopped
Romain Grosjean twice when he was on a fast lap.
In the last phase of FP3, it was very busy on the track, as everyone tried to find a hole for a fast lap. Grosjean found that Perez got in his way. First, he ran into him just before the chicane and the second time halfway his fast lap.
Grosjean shouted at Perez
According to
RaceFans.net, Grosjean would have shouted over the onboard radio:
"The FIA has to do something about this, this is f*cking dangerous, Perez drove completely on the race line!" Perez must now report to the race management for one of these two moments.
There is a chance that Perez will get three places penalty for this before the race on Sunday. This could be a favourable development for
Max Verstappen, who is seriously considering the fast
Racing Point during qualifying.
