The
Formula 1 teams have their next challenge ahead of them this coming weekend with the
Monaco Grand Prix. Mercedes has crept closer to the competition since the race in Spain, but according to Lawrence Barretto, the question is whether the stable can show this in Monaco.
The German racing team had a rough start to the season. In Barcelona, however, Toto Wolff's team managed to bring updates that allowed
George Russell and
Lewis Hamilton to fight at the front of the driver field.
"Mercedes’ revival in Barcelona caused quite a stir," states Barretto at
Formula1.com.
"The Silver Arrows appearing to have conquered their porpoising issues. Monaco’s tight and twisty layout will be the W13’s next test – and it hasn’t always been a happy hunting ground for the reigning eight-time world champions." Mercedes may have good chance in Monaco
In doing so, Barretto indicated that he expects Mercedes to be able to compete for the front starting positions in Monaco. Besides the Germans,
Red Bull Racing and
Ferrari also have a good chance of pole position.
Max Verstappen and
Charles Leclerc will once again fight together for the lead in the world championship.
