Jack Doohan, 15, has won the Formula 4 rookies title and insists he is keen on progressing towards Formula 3 within the next year. The Australian is the son of Mick Doohan. A father who has won five consecutive 500cc World Championships on his motorbike.
The youngster has been involved in the Red Bull set-up since 2016 when talks between Helmut Marko and senior Doohan took place. Junior Doohan is making quick progress, and perhaps he could move up at a similar speed to Max Verstappen.
"It was a difficult start to the season, but it is great that we have managed to win in the rookie class. The fight with my teammate Dennis [Hauger] was tough, but all in all a great experience," Doohan told Speedweek.
"I could spend another year in Formula 4, but maybe I'll make the switch to Formula 3 next year. That is the goal for sometime in the next few years."
