Red Bull advisor Dr Helmut Marko has admitted that the team knew about Daniel Ricciardo's hydraulic problem during the Mexican Grand Prix ever since the tenth lap, with the Aussie's RB14 eventually breaking down in the final stage of the race.

It was the eighth, yes, eighth time this season that Dani Ric's car didn't make it to the finish line. Six of those eight retirements were purely mechanical, leaving him so frustrated that he told the media that he doesn't feel like driving the car anymore for the final two Grands Prix.

Ricciardo's car just turned off mid-race, something which had happened to his teammate Max Verstappen already in free practice on Friday.

In an interview with Auto Motor und Sport, Marko revealed that Red Bull had already detected the hydraulics problem in Ricciardo's car early in the race.

"Since lap ten, really," the Austrian explained.

"From that moment on, we knew that something wasn't right and that something could happen.

"The end of one of the hoses had broken off, something we could see in the data.

"Unfortunately, the hose didn't last the whole race after that," he concluded.

It's becoming a thing that we say after every race, but Dani Ric truly can't catch a break, can he?
