Besides a contract extension for
Max Verstappen Red Bull Racing hopes to have more good news soon.
Helmut Marko told
Servus TV that Red Bull are also working on a contract extension for
Christian Horner.
Now that Verstappen has won his first world title in
Formula 1, his reputation has grown even more. In situations like this, the big teams like
Ferrari will start pulling for you, but Verstappen has no desire to do so. The Dutchman already expressed his wish to drive for Red Bull his whole life and according to Marko both parties are in talks to extend the contract.
New contract for Horner
Additionally, Marko had more good news, because next to a new contract for Verstappen they are also busy with a new commitment for the team boss. Red Bull's management wants to ensure stability for the coming years, in order to build on the success of recent years.
In Horner's case it would be a new contract until 2026, which would give the team boss until the year in which the new engine regulations come into force. Red Bull hopes to create stability in a transition phase where the aerodynamic regulations are changed (2022) and later the engine regulations (2026).
