Red Bull Racing have reacted to the shock transfer of
Lewis Hamilton, who will move from
Mercedes to
Ferrari in 2025.
Red Bull are sharp to the Ferrari news Hamilton
The
Formula 1 team led by
Christian Horner and
Helmut Marko posted two posts on
social media after the news was announced. One is a video of
Max Verstappen and
Sergio Perez looking into the distance in bewilderment. Verstappen says:
"They're not swapping drivers?" To which Perez replies,
"Yes, they did."
Of course, the true context was slightly different: in reality, the drivers were racing in the Mojave Desert prior to the Las Vegas Grand Prix. Verstappen and Perez competed in hovercrafts against
Daniel Ricciardo and
Yuki Tsunoda, the drivers of sister team
Visa Cash App RB (VCARB, formerly Scuderia AlphaTauri).
The Austrian team shared another post in which they nicely capitalised on the situation: the cooldown room in which the drivers recover after the race and discuss the race with each other was over time renamed the '
Max Verstappen podcast' as the Dutchman was almost always present, with different 'guests' each time. Today's news makes Red Bull wonder whether an 'emergency podcast' should be inserted.
