Red Bull Racing have done an excellent job in the constructors' standings. With
Max Verstappen on the top step of the podium and
Sergio Perez on P2, the Austrian constructor finished well ahead of
Ferrari.
Carlos Sainz completed the podium in Japan and
Charles Leclerc finished on P4.
For now,
Ferrari is the only constructor close to Red Bull.
McLaren, which is third in the standings, have 69 points, and 51 points behind Ferrari, who have 120 points. Verstappen scored 77 points this season and Perez 64, bringing Red Bull to a total of 141 points in the constructors' championship.
Behind McLaren, it is another big gap to Mercedes and Aston Martin.
Lewis Hamilton and
George Russell did not score many points in Japan. The Britons finished on P7 and P9. They did do better than at the weekend of the
Australian Grand Prix, as both drivers dropped out then.
Williams, Stake and Alpine are still on zero points.
