Mexican media angry after Red Bull tweet
It is a common image among
F1 fans on social media: Verstappen and Ricciardo dancing in camping chairs on top of Eau Rouge-Raidillon. Red Bull used the image in a reaction to news of the contract extension for the
Belgian Grand Prix, prompting many reactions.
Among several Spanish-language media, the post caused outrage.
"Red Bull's drivers are Max Verstappen and Checo Perez. Well, to celebrate Spa staying on the calendar until 2025, the team has used an image showing Daniel Ricciardo!", reports
LaSexta.
The Spanish TV channel speaks of "total contempt" for the Mexican and notes that Perez keeps getting punished by his own team. In turn, Mexican sports broadcaster W Deportes suggests then Perez should turn his back on his team. "Run away Sergio, you don't deserve this!", states the radio station, which infers from the message that Perez is about to be replaced by Ricciardo.
