Charles Leclerc may only be in his first season with
Ferrari but reports are suggesting the Monegasque is set for a bumper new deal which will see his pay slip almost triple excluding bonuses.
Leclerc won his first
Formula 1 race last weekend in Spa holding off a late surge from
Lewis Hamilton to win the
Belgian Grand Prix. The young driver is on pole for the fourth time this season when the drivers line up for the
Italian Grand Prix at Monza on Sunday.
Leclerc's good form has led many to believe he is now there number one driver as they look to the future and winning world titles again. (As quoted by
Formula Passion) La Gazzetta dello Sport are reporting that the Maranello are considering renewing his deal and his current payslip of 2 million euros could triple for 2021.
"The pilots' contracts are renegotiated only if there are reasons and conditions to do so," Binotto said.
"With Charles we made an investment for the future and Seb is happy to be with us. The Ferrari pair in 2020 will still be formed by them."
