Daniel Ricciardo is happy with
Renault's performance after two days of testing. The Aussie had an issue with his rear wing which saw it fly off whilst driving but despite this, remains optimistic about the season.
Daniel Ricciardo has enjoyed his first two days as a Renault driver and is hopeful of the team's success in the upcoming season.
When speaking to SBS.com, Ricciardo spoke about how winter testing was going.
"The way the car used the tyres I thought was pretty encouraging. I didn't feel like it fell off a cliff and we're killing it," he said.
During the testing, Ricciardo had an on-track incident which saw his DRS system fail and his rear win fly off.
"While it was on it was OK," Ricciardo said about his rear wing. "As soon as I braked I lost the car. I spun and I actually went in pretty quick and I'm glad I didn't hit the barriers. Its what testing is for!
"I feel there's a lot of attention to detail and it's promising from an ambitious point of view. I feel they (Renault) are ticking all the boxes from an analysis and 'trying to get better' point of view,"
Ricciardo joked about driving into the Red Bull garage by mistake, "Today the Red Bull guys were waiting for (Pierre) Gasly when I was coming in the pits. They were all out there and I was like, 'I'm not going to fall for it'. I actually waved as I drove past," he laughed.
It's still very early but Ricciardo seems happy and confident and his new team.
