Red Bull driver Daniel Ricciardo is planning 'more overtaking' at Monza, as he looks to put the disappointment of Spa-Francorchamps behind him.
Ricciardo is having a tough time of things at the moment, with his car being damaged at the start of the Belgian Grand Prix, which forced him to pit and be two laps down to everyone else.
The Australian was forced to retire later in the race because of this and now the soon-to-be Renault man faces a grid penalty at Monza, due to a new engine being taken.
"It looks likely that I will be taking some engine penalties," Ricciardo said earlier this week. "It's obviously not ideal.
"But Monza is a power track and one that we haven't been hugely strong at in recent years. It does mean plenty of action and fun for me in the race, though.
"I've done some of my best overtaking moves there and I plan on doing plenty more this week. Last year, I finished fourth from 16th on the grid, so it won't be boring if I have to do the same again this year."
Ricciardo admitted that it is a challenge for Red Bull with their current Renault engine at Monza, which is a predominatly power-dominated track.
"Monza is fast, very fast," he said. "This makes it great fun but at the same time not ideal for us and our car. It is an old school track, one of the few left."
