Nico Rosberg has hailed his former Mercedes teammate Lewis Hamilton for his win at Monza, saying it was an "epic drive" from his childhood friend to bring home his 68th career win.
Hamilton started from third but overtook both Ferrari's in front of him at some point, taking Vettel in the first lap and getting past Raikkonen in one of the last laps of the race. Hamilton and Rosberg often clashed in their time as teammates, but Rosberg conceded that this win was pretty amazing from his former teammate.
"It was an epic drive from Lewis," he said on Sky Sports F1.
"That is why he is considered to be one of the best of all time.
"He showed it again today in an inferior car.
"Hamilton is driving phenomenally and is surely at the peak of his career."
With Hamilton being in pole position to win his fifth championship, it's hard to disagree with that last statement, especially after the drive the Brit had today. He was clinical, he didn't slip up once, and he managed his tyres perfectly.
