2016 world champion Nico Rosberg has heavily critiqued Max Verstappen's actions of not only this weekend, but the entire season, and the German thinks this trend has to stop sooner rather than later.
Things were looking up for Max until he slingshotted his RB14 towards a hairpin in an attempt to overtake Sebastian Vettel. However, the Dutchman overshot the corner and hit Vettel, causing them both to spin, and effectively ending both of their races. Verstappen apologized to Vettel immediately after the race and the latter accepted that it was just a mistake and forgave him.
However, Rosberg thinks that enough is enough. Verstappen needs to look at himself in the mirror and make some adjustments in his driving.
"This can't go on like this," he told German news outlet Motorsport-Magazine.
"He's driven three races and has already made five mistakes.
"He has all the talent in the world, but he has to pick himself up."
Whether Verstappen deserved a ten-second penalty for driving into Vettel, Rosberg doesn't want to say.
"I can't say if that was the right call or not, that's very hard to say."
A rare bit of nuance from Rosberg, who is usually very outspoken!
