The
Belgian Grand Prix is scheduled for this weekend. While it seemed earlier that the country would no longer be on the race calendar next season, there are more and more signs that
Formula 1 will still continue with the circuit of
Spa-Francorchamps.
Formula 1 journalist Craig Slater also hinted at
Sky Sports on the continuation of the Belgian race weekend. According to him, the GP has a clear added value on the calendar.
"We will all be back here in the rain next year," he told the English medium.
Verstappen dominates during first day
During the first two free practice sessions on Friday the teams had the opportunity to test their cars.
Carlos Sainz and
Charles Leclerc made an excellent impression during the first session, but
Max Verstappen struck back a few hours later.
The Dutchman was a lot faster than Leclerc and seems ready to set a good qualifying pace on Saturday. For Leclerc, pole position is key, as
Red Bull Racing usually performs better in the race.
