Williams driver Sergey Sirotkin's future at Williams beyond this season is still unclear, the rookie's main sponsor revealed, as neither seat at the British team has yet been announced for 2019 and beyond.
Russian bank SMP is the main sponsor of Sirotkin, who has just accumulated one point this season after Romain Grosjean got disqualified from the Italian Grand Prix earlier this year.
Nevertheless, Sirotkin seems to be a good driver despite his horrible car, as he has been able to out-qualify his Force India-bound teammate Lance Stroll this season. Still, the F1 is a tough world, and no one's future is safe.
"There is no agreement for next season, first we are still in this season," SMP boss Boris Rotenberg told Russian news agency Tass.
That means that both seats at the struggling Grove-based team are still up for grabs. Apart from Sirotkin, Robert Kubica seems to be one of the main candidates for the seat, as well as Force India's Esteban Ocon, who has been pushed out of his seat by the money of Lance and Lawrence Stroll.
