Sainz and
McLaren have been in fine form the past few races in both qualifying and race, putting them in a good position as the leaders of the midfield teams ahead of
Renault in the constructor’s championship.
In Austria Sainz started in P19 and made it all the way up into the points to finish P8 while his teammate
Lando Norris qualified fifth and finished sixth, showing the pace they really have.
Ahead of the British Grand Prix the Spaniard has stated he is looking forward to the weekend with McLaren to close the gap with other drivers.
Sainz said (quoted by GrandPrix247):
“McLaren’s home race next! I’m really looking forward to this weekend. “The British Grand Prix is a really special race on the F1 calendar and one of my favourite tracks. “It’s a very quick and enjoyable circuit that creates good opportunities for close racing. “My aim for this weekend is to keep pushing on track and working closely with the team to maximise every opportunity we get.
