Carlos Sainz finally showed his good side in Baku, getting a good result on the board for Renault and showing good pace throughout the weekend, and the Spaniard admits that he's happy about his own performance.
When breaking down his own race, Sainz explained the tactics of Renault, which were fairly aggressive.
"We had to be very aggressive at the start because we started on ultra-softs," Sainz explained to Sky Sports F1.
"The start went very well and we even got in front of the Red Bulls, but after the pit stop, I had to start from scratch.
"Fortunately it all ended well and I can be happy with this result."
Sainz continued by talking about the race conditions, which were tough because of the wind. The Spaniard did admit that he enjoyed being a part of this very exciting race.
"For me it was a cool race to drive, so it must've been even better for the people who were watching.
"The conditions were very tough though with the wind, which you could see with the Grosjean incident."
Sainz of course references to Romain Grosjean's crash during the safety car, which looked like a very stupid mistake from the outside. Admittedly, it could've been the wind as Sainz was saying.
