Carlos Sainz went backwards in a difficult race for him at the
Hungaroring, losing four positions and only picking up two points.
The Spaniard sits 11th in the standings as the F1 calendar enters the summer break, before returning at the Belgian Grand Prix in late August.
Sainz was overtaken by the Kevin Magnussen and Fernando Alonso and was not impressed by his performance.
He said: "It was a bit of everything, and I'm not happy.
"The start was good but into turn one I was pushed wide with drivers on the ultrasofts while I was on the softs, once we were getting into a rhythm we starting to show some decent pace.
“But then we boxed too early and got overtaken by both McLarens and Haas and lost positions there.”
Sainz is having a relatively difficult season, and is currently 22 points behind his Renault teammate Nico Hulkenberg.
