Ferrari can be very satisfied with their result after the qualifying of the Brazilian Grand Prix. The Italian team set the sixth and seventh fastest times, creating a good starting position for Saturday's sprint race. Carlos Sainz however has some problems. The Spaniard noticed during qualifying that Pierre Gasly was again faster in his Alpha Tauri. The Frenchman only had Mercedes and Red Bull Racing ahead of him, securing fifth place on the grid. "It's been like this all year, so it's not a surprise for us," Sainz responded in conversation with Motorsport-total.com. "If we look at the lap times, the car is often as fast or maybe even faster than us."
It doesn't mean Sainz is resigned to it though, as the driver has been combative this season. "They've found the consistency now that maybe they didn't have in the beginning. The car is damn strong. But we will try to beat it, because as Ferrari we don't want to be beaten by AlphaTauri if we leave McLaren behind." Ferrari on an excellent run
The Italian stable has been performing extremely well since the engine changes to Sainz and Charles Leclerc and even passed McLaren in the Constructors' Championship. The gap to Red Bull and Mercedes is still huge though.
