Sauber F1 Team have partnered up with junior single-seater team Charouz Racing System for a young driver devlopment programme.
This will be Sauber's first official defined youth operation, but they have had close-ties with engine supplier Ferrari, with the team handing Charles Leclerc his rookie season in Formula One.
Charouz went into Formula Two back earlier this year, having switched from the Formula V8 3.5 Series, and will take part in F3 next season; which coincedentally replaces GP3 on the F1 support bill.
With the new deal in place, Sauber Junior Team drivers will compete in junior categories, with the aim of helping young drivers develop into future Formula One drivers.
The programme will take place in the Czech Republic, the base of Charouz Racing System.
"Racing is a vital part of Sauber Motorsport's DNA and the Sauber Junior Team marks an important milestone in the company history," Sauber boss Frederic Vasseur told Motorsport.com.
"Sauber has a long tradition of helping drivers reach their full potential, having worked with the likes of Michael Schumacher, Sebastian Vettel and upcoming star Charles Leclerc.
"With this project, Sauber further extends its racing platform with a complete and dedicated programme from the junior series to the pinnacle of motorsport.
"We are delighted to partner with Charouz Racing System, a highly professional team that operates with success in all the series."
