Mick Schumacher started the season hopeful last weekend in Saudi Arabia. The driver came up just short of the points with his 11th finishing position, but compared to last season his team has gained many places. Schumacher is therefore setting the bar higher.
Haas experienced a very disappointing year in
Formula 1 last season. With Schumacher and Nikita Mazepin in its ranks, the American stable failed to bring in points, leaving it to hope that things would improve in 2022.
That proved to be the case in Bahrain, as
Kevin Magnussen, who replaced Mazepin in the preparation, managed to finish fifth. In the coming months, Haas hopes to improve the car and thus join the middle ranks of
Formula 1 teams.
Schumacher hopes for strong Haas
Schumacher is hopeful about the performance of his car and therefore expects a lot from himself and the team. At the press conference, he told
Sky Sports what the expectations are for the
Saudi Arabia Grand Prix.
"Top ten, that would be a good result. What would be a great result is top five. And a great weekend is a podium finish," Schumacher said.
