The second free practice for the Las Vegas Grand Prix will go ahead, but with a delayed start. The FIA has just announced that. However, the original 60-minute session has been extended. This time, the free practice session will last 90 minutes. The session's start is likely to occur at 10am UK time.
There was actually not very much leeway to shift the start times because, at 4:00 am local time, the circuit is open to regular traffic again. This had to happen because, for example, during these hours, the hotels are supplied.
The FIA informs, "We currently expect about two hours' delay from the originally scheduled start time for FP2 to allow the local technical team to carry out the necessary work on the circuit. The session will be extended to 90 minutes. Will be updated with more details when available."
