Sebastian Vettel had gathered a championship lead going into the second half of the 2017 season but Ferrari blew it with tactical mistakes, mechanical issues and team collisions.

The Ferrari president began his interview wishing his mechanic a speedy recovery.

“First and foremost, I wish our mechanic a speedy recovery and hope to see him back on track soon,” said Sergio.

“It’s worth pointing out that there is still a long way to go and we have to maintain a high level of concentration, continuing to work diligently and with passion.

"The team performed consistently all weekend and we were front runners right from the start of practice.

“It was a difficult race and Sebastian drove like a true champion.

Sebastian has a 17 point lead over second place Lewis Hamilton.

The race for the 5th World title between the two drivers is certainly hotting up.
