Nico Hulkenberg believes Renault achieved their highest possible finish in Bahrain after getting the “maximum”.
Nico finished in 6th below rivals Haas and Toro Rosso.
The German said: “We got the maximum from the race, which is a good positive
“We didn’t quite have the pace to compete with the cars ahead of us and that leaves me a little disappointed.”
This was Renault’s highest finish since their latest return to
Formula 1.
Hulkenberg intends to improve on the start of his Grand Prix.
He lost out on a battle with Magnussen in the first lap and, perhaps a better start could have resulted in more points.
“We need to analyse what happened at the start because I had too much wheel spin,” he said.
“I was stuck in traffic after both stops and we couldn’t really do a lot from there.”
