Much like Max Verstappen, Sergio Perez did not have a good Friday in Imola. In the first free practice, the Mexican finished fourth, but in the second free practice, the veteran finished eighth. Red Bull Racing is not yet where it wants to be in Italy.

''I think we have got some work to do tonight,'' Perez said after the second free practice session in Imola. "We'll Try to pick up the best bits because I think everything follows with the performance running and also the high fuel running. I think there is some tidying up to do there. I think if we're able to pick up some nice balance over qualifying, we will be in a strong position for race day. Optimistic for it," said the Mexican.

Weather plays a role according to Perez

"I think it has been tricky at times with the wind being pretty strong and we're expecting a bit of a change going onto tomorrow in the qualifying, so it would be an interesting one." Concluded the six-time Grand Prix winner.

There was no race at Imola last season due to flooding, but Perez has raced at the Italian circuit twice before in Red Bull colours. In 2021 and 2022, he qualified second and third respectively. What's in store for Perez tomorrow?
