This weekend will mark the 34th Grand Prix to be held at Circuit de Barcelona-Cataluyna, with the first held back in 1991. It will also mark the penultimate Grand Prix at the circuit, before Formula 1 moves to Madrid for 2026. But which records can be broken this weekend in Spain?

Hamilton win record

Lewis Hamilton currently holds the most wins of any driver in Formula 1 with 103. If the seven-time world champion were to win in Barcelona this weekend, he would eclipse two records he currently shares with Micheal Schumacher. One of these records is winning one race in different seasons. As it stands, both Hamilton and Schumacher have won at least one race in 15 different seasons. Victory for Hamilton this weekend would take him above the German, as well as giving him a record-breaking seventh Spanish Grand Prix victory. Both Schumacher and Hamilton currently have six wins at the Spanish Grand Prix.

However, Hamilton has failed to win a race since Saudi Arabia in 2021. This means he currently stands on 54 races without a win, the longest streak of his Formula 1 career.

A podium in Spain this weekend would equal another Schumacher record. A top-three finish would take Hamilton to 12 podiums at the track, the same number as Schumacher.

Verstappen podium records

Max Verstappen took his first win and podium at Spain back in 2016 in his first race with Red Bull Racing. If he achieved another podium finish this weekend, he would not only match both Fernando Alonso and Alain Prost on 106 podium finishes, but it would also be his eighth podium finish at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. That would see him equal his personal best for most podium finishes at a single track. He has taken eight previous top-three finishes at the Red Bull Ring.

If Verstappen led every lap of Sunday's race as he did during last year's race, he would overtake Jim Clark for fourth in the list of most races led from start to end. It would be the 14th time he has done so in his career.

Along with Oscar Piastri, Verstappen could also maintain his 100% Q3 appearance records at the Spanish Grand Prix. Michael Schumacher is the only other driver with a 100% Q3 appearance record at the track.
