Haas have pace this season and nobody can doubt that, but what is obvious is that mistakes are preventing them from scoring the points their car deserves.
Haas sit a very disappointing eighth in the constructors’ standings after a string of unexpectedly poor results in 2018.
The team failed to pick up any points in Baku after Romain Grosjean crashed whilst trying to warm his tyres up under the safety car.
The French driver is yet to score points in 2018, in his worst start to a Formula One season in his career.
On Saturday in Baku, Kevin Magnussen bizarrely lost a piece of bodywork, and with the team unable to fix the problem, he ended up being knocked out in Q2, and failed to score points the next day.
Steiner says that these problems have to stop: “Every race we have had something. Sometimes you don’t see them. We have problems with this stuff, we are fully aware of it.
“We’re not proud of it. I don’t try and find an excuse. We need to fix it.
“Every little mistake away from the race car, on the operations side has big consequences, as we’ve seen this year.”
