Lance Stroll has claimed his innocence after his collision on the first lap of the Canadian Grand Prix with Toro Rosso's Brendon Hartley, as he said that he just lost control of his Williams.
Stroll did not have the home race he would've wanted, as the Canadian flew into the wall alongside Hartley in the very first lap of the race in Montréal. When it comes to the crash, Stroll just believes this is all part of the sport.
"That's just how it goes sometimes," he said.
"Those things happen in the first lap when cars are going neck and neck.
"When I entered turn five, I was driving next to Brendon and I lost control of the car.
"I corrected but I was too late already and I hit him.
"There was simply too little room for the both of us so we flew into the wall."
That's pretty much what happened, but Stroll should feel more guilty about the whole incident. Hartley didn't lose control of his car, Stroll did. To just say it's part of racing sounds a bit like a cop-out.
