Daniel Ricciardo didn't reach the heights he did in Monaco as he finished fourth in the Canadian Grand Prix, but the Aussie calls finishing over Lewis Hamilton a "little win".
Ricciardo had some struggles during the whole weekend in Canada compared to his teammate Max Verstappen, who finished on the podium. Nevertheless, the Aussie still managed to take some positives from the race.
"I don't know (if) Lewis, let's say, had issues this weekend – but this is normally a really strong track for him," he told GPfans.
"It's normally a strong track for Mercedes.
"So for us to take a few points away – I think it's a little win and gives us a lot of encouragement coming in for the next few races.
"I came on the radio and said I think I can keep this pace – so I kind of hinted we could probably go again but once they saw I overcut Lewis that was enough.
A positive attitude from Ricciardo, who lost out on his third place in the championship standings to Valtteri Bottas, who leap-frogged the Aussie by finishing second in Montréal.
