During the
official F1 press conference ahead of the
Miami Grand Prix,
Lance Stroll was asked some questions about his current teammate
Fernando Alonso. The
Aston Martin team is not only going surprisingly well on track this year, but also off the track the atmosphere seems to be good at the British racing stable. Alonso and Stroll seem to get along well. Both drivers help each other both on and off the track.
The interviewer on duty reminded
Lance Stroll of a picture his father Lawrence showed of him with Alonso at the age of 12. The relationship with Alonso goes way back, even to when you were a little man. Lance Stroll replied,
"I wouldn't say we had a relationship back when I was 12. I was just a fanboy. But yeah, there's a great dynamic in the team at the moment. I definitely enjoy working alongside him. He is extremely talented, knowledgeable, experienced and hungry to get the most out of himself every day."Alonso already 20 years in F1
The 41-year-old Spaniard won two world titles in his career. After a sabbatical, Alonso seems better than ever. "He has been at the top of his game for how many years he's been in F1 now? Like I don't know, more than 20 years. So, I think just to see that determination, focus and motivation every day. I have a lot of respect for that," Stroll said.
The
Aston Martin team is currently second in the battle for the constructors' title and is determined to hold that spot ahead of
Ferrari and Mercedes. The first place is far out of reach, as Red Bull already has twice as many points as the British team after five of the 23 GPs.
