Lance Stroll has made good use of the short break on the
Formula 1 calendar. The Canadian has chosen to explore the circuit of Imola. Imola is back on the calendar for the first time since 2006.
This year the first Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix will be held, but it is certainly not the first Grand Prix at Imola. Imola has a rich history in
Formula 1 and was continuously on the
Formula 1 calendar from 1980 to 2006. Among the current drivers,
Kimi Raikkonen is the only one who experienced the race in 2006.
Test drive before the Grand Prix
Stroll has explored the Enzo e Dino Ferrari circuit this week in an old GP2 car, reports
Motorsport.com. Due to strict F1 test restrictions, the
Racing Point driver is not allowed to drive a Formula 1 car at Imola, which is why Stroll drove an old Prema GP2 car. Prema is owned by his father
Lawrence Stroll.
The Young Canadian is certainly not the first driver to explore the Imola circuit before racing. A few weeks ago
Valtteri Bottas had already been seen in a Mercedes AMG A45 on the Italian circuit.
