The
Belgian Grand Prix this weekend should be the start of a great title fight in
Formula 1. Where
Max Verstappen will try to regain the lead in the world championship immediately,
Lewis Hamilton will want to do everything to improve this. Both men would like to win the race.
The British driver will often think back to last season when he took the win with relative ease. His Mercedes was a lot stronger than
Red Bull Racing's car that season, so he had little to fear from Verstappen throughout the race. A lead of over fifteen seconds was enough to secure the win.
However, Hamilton has only won three times in the last three years.
Sebastian Vettel (three wins),
Charles Leclerc,
Nico Rosberg,
Daniel Ricciardo and
Jenson Button (all one win) were the other drivers to end the Belgian GP with a victory since 2011, which is no indication that Mercedes will be the strongest this weekend.
Mercedes versus Red Bull Racing
Verstappen is currently just eight points behind Hamilton, but the race in Belgium could turn the championship on its head. The Dutch GP is scheduled for a week later.
