2021 is again an important year for
Valtteri Bottas. The Finn will once again be up against
Lewis Hamilton at
Mercedes. To keep his seat with the champions team, the driver needs to impress. To prepare for this, Bottas goes to extremes.
Bottas 4.0?
Bottas is facing a major challenge. The Finn is likely to have to say goodbye to Mercedes next year.
George Russell of
Williams looks set to take his place, so Bottas needs to be at his best.
In the preparations for the upcoming season Bottas travelled to the northernmost tip of Finland in Lapland. There he trains with temperatures of -22 degrees Celsius, as can be seen on his Instagram account.
No excuses for Bottas
The temperature in Kilpisjärvi doesn't seem to bother the Finn much: "Always good weather for a run. -22 and a bit of wind chill. No excuses."
Bottas has travelled to Lapland specifically to train with his partner Tiffany Cromewell, who is a professional cyclist and no doubt also wants to start a good sports season.
