Almost everything has been decided in the championship. However, there is still one battle going on that is interesting going into the
Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. Third-place in the constructors' championship is still up for grabs. With the double podium at the Sakhir GP,
Racing Point makes an important difference.
After the
Bahrain Grand Prix last week, it was
McLaren that were in control. Perez was on the podium but lost those points because his engine broke down just before the end.
Carlos Sainz and
Lando Norris were then able to take full advantage of this.
This time around, Perez was in second place when he was tagged by
Charles Leclerc in the first lap. Thanks to a great catch-up race and the complete collapse of
Mercedes, Racing Point now strikes back. Their lead over
McLaren is now ten points.
