Over the weekend of the Singapore Grand Prix, it was revealed that an F1 driver from the current grid will compete in the next 24 Hours of Daytona. F1 reporter for ESPN and others, Marshall Pruett now knows which driver it is.

Is Albon Taylor Racing's secret F1 driver?

Alexander Albon will join Wayne Taylor Racing for the opening race of the IMSA Weather Tech Sportscar Championship next year, according to Pruett. Wayne Taylor, the team owner, previously revealed that an F1 driver will compete in the prestigious race. At the time, Taylor just did not reveal who it would be.

That secret now seems to be no more as in The Marshall Pruett Podcast, Pruett lets slip that it is Williams driver Albon. Albon is no stranger to other racing classes and other race cars. The Briton drove in the DTM after he had to temporarily abandon his F1 career following his dismissal from Red Bull Racing.

The Williams driver is free of F1 commitments as the race takes place on the weekend of 25 to 28 January, during the F1 winter break. Pruett does report that the contracts have not yet been signed and nothing is fixed, but that that is only a matter of time. So Pruett does think Albon is Taylor's secret.
