Max Verstappen has been crowned GPblog Driver of the Day after the Mexico Grand Prix with a majority of votes. The Red Bull driver received just under half of the votes.

Verstappen had a dominant weekend in Mexico. At the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez, Verstappen was fastest over one lap on Saturday and also drove everyone off the wheel on Sunday. Not surprisingly, the 25-year-old driver received 49% of the votes in GPblog's poll.

Daniel Ricciardo also gets a large share of the votes. The Australian became the official driver of the day at Formula 1 itself and gets 38% of the votes from GPblog readers. Despite a remarkable crash with Yuki Tsunoda, Ricciardo drove to seventh place and finally some points for McLaren again.

Fernando Alonso also gets some sympathy votes after his failure and finishes third in the election with 4%. Lewis Hamilton gets 5% of the votes for his second place and battle with Verstappen, while Sergio Perez gets 4%.
