Japanese driver Yuki Tsunoda has received the Anthoine Hubert Award for best
Formula 2 rookie of the year. The Red Bull-junior won three races this season and came third behind
Mick Schumacher and Callum Ilott in the drivers' championship.
New prize
The Anthoine Hubert Award was introduced at the end of last year in honour of the
Formula 2 driver Hubert who crashed and sadly died during the race at Spa-Francorchamps. Guanyu Zhou was the first driver to receive the award last season.
When receiving the prize Tsunoda mentioned Hubert.
"I have to work even harder to become like him. It is an honour to receive this prize." Tsunoda is expected to make the transition to
Formula 1 next season as a replacement for
Daniil Kvyat at AlphaTauri.
