Rinus van Kalmthout impressively secured the pole position for the IndyCar Grand Prix of Alabama. At the Barber Motor Park, the 21-year-old Dutchman proved unbeatable and won the NTT P1 Award for the second time in his career.
Rinus Veekay, with a time of 1:06.2507, was a tenth and a half too fast for Pato O'Ward, who will start alongside Veekay from the front row. Alex Palou grabbed the third time with a gap of just under two tenths.
After the session, Veekay says he has a lot of confidence for the race on Sunday, for which the warm-up is already a few hours away in the form of the final free practice. That means no warm-up on Sunday, so the drivers will go straight into the race tomorrow.
